Additionally, they provide radiant heat in entrances and vestibules, helping reduce heating costs while providing warmth and helping to dry the floor. They also work very well as work mats for working in the garage during winter months and other areas where people must stand on cold floors.
We have purchased and use several Outdoor Heated Mats at Aspenwood, a residential condo setting located on the shore of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota. We use them on sidewalks to eliminate snow and ice. They work very well. The outdoor heated mats solved a problem as they are layed in an area that is inaccessible to snow blowers and required laborious shoveling. Great invention.

The mats and stair treads are made from a high grade rubber with a textured surface. The stair treads and mats come with grommets so they may be mechanically anchored in place. They may be removed in the off season or left in place all year round.
The removable steps and mats are made of an electrically operated heating element sandwiched between two protective surfaces of non slip rubber, making it as durable as automobile tires and allowing it to endure harsh wear. This system plugs into any standard 120VAC outlet (also offered in 240VAC), melting up to 2 inches of accumulated snow in less than an hour. It comes with a 15 foot power cord and plugs into standard outlets using its own Equipment Leakage Circuit Interrupter (ELCI).

EH38 Thermostat Accessory
The EH38 plugs directly into any 120V outlet, and then acts as an outlet receptacle itself. Once the EH38 is plugged in, our heated stair treads and mats can plug directly into the back of the EH38 thermostat.
When installed, the convenient EH38 automatically energizes the mat at temperatures lower than 38°F/ 3°C and then shuts off power when the temperature rises to 50°F/10°C. The EH38 has a power indicator light that lights up when the thermostat is energized. The EH38 is designed only for 120V products, and can handle up to 15 Amps.
NOTE: Heated stair treads can be "daisy chained" so there is only one power cord. Likewise, they may be daisy chained to the heated mat.
